Single or dual braking

On this rebuild of mine i have the choice of braking systems.
Would you suggest the single or dual system?
This will be powered by a 200tdi if this influences you.

my '65 109 is 200tdi powered and has single line non servo
braking, it stops quite well and with effort will lock all four
wheels
my 88" bitsa is also 200tdi powered, has dual line servo
assisted braking with 11" sls backplates on the front axle, this
one has really light and powerful brakes which if i can maintain
traction when hammering the brakes on will make the rear tyres
hover  the problem then is the risk of
squirming/turning/twisting when trying to stop in a straight
line, i didn't bother fitting the PDWA (shuttle valve thing) in
the system as i decided that would only be another place to
create problems
i reckon my bitsa has great brakes, my 109 on the other hand
although stopping well could really do with improving and the
effort required reducing
personally i'd fit the dual line servo assisted system if you
have it sitting around as the idea of dual line is to retain
some braking should you suffer a failure on one axle or the
other, not that rear axle brakes on thier own will be much use

If you have the choice I'd go for the dual. I run series motors
with both and the advantage with dual is at MOT time your hand
brake effort only has to be 16% not 25% with a single line
system.

;D Other than that I
can't say there's much to choose between them. Chances are most
single line series Landys will have copper brake lines, chances
of a rot through failure is minimal.

Can't say which is best as I only have one 'dual line' leafer
but ;

....recent events saw utter failure of the shuttle valve (
assuming thats the fella which is supposed to ^^^ do that)
.......and , I must concur with Nitemare on the
squirming/turning/twisting bit as I have found, now that I have
the servo running off a proper vacuum pump rather than the
woefully shite butterfly valve system.

so you've had opportunity to learn cadence braking as a
necessity as well then Nuggett rofl
