TDI oil pressure

I've fitted a mechanical oil pressure gauge at the weekend
whilst swapping the oil and filter
I haven't took it for a run yet,but what sort of ball park
pressures should i be getting at cold idle,warm idle and at mach
2?
(Disco 200tdi) ;D

Mine on start from cold gives about 45-50 at idle then stays
about that sort of number at modest motorway speeds then when
hot idle is about 25.

^ I havnt driven it and I didnt know what pressures to

Same here, 200tdi about 90,000 miles :thumbs:

If you suspect it is low, there are a couple of O rings near
skew gear below the vacuum pump which go hard and crack.
'Apparently' this lets oil escape back to the sump and can lead
to low pressure, I have changed mine as a precaution however I
have no evidence whether this is true, just worth knowing if
your pressure looks slightly low or the oil light flickers on
tickover.

The oil light has never flickered at tickover, but as i said,
its not been driven since the gauge was fitted.
Useful info about the O rings though :thumbs:
The charge light however has always been on,unless your moving
pretty quickly,the volt gauge has always shown a healthy charge
and ive not had a problem with the battery or starting without
glow plugs,so... I will live with it.

The pressures on mine with approx 150,000 miles on, are
Start up from cold at idle to running speeds - 60psi
Hot and running - 40-45psi
Hot at idle - around 20 psi
