Fortunately we were the lucky ones Rich, as the break down of
the partnership of Mr Brake Light and Mrs Indicator Light
eventually led to the rise of the :gay:

40-45 front, and 50-60 rears. That's if your carrying engines
etc to deliver to worthy souls.... If, however, you are taking
stuff to a wine soaked clown.... you need more air.

This subject always gets people talking.
The following "system was suggested at a recent Landy Club
       meeting.
Inflate tyres to a given pressure, and then drive for 30 to 40
minutes, and check the pressure again immediately.
If the pressure has risen by about 4 psi the original pressure
       was the correct one.
If the pressure has risen by more than 4 lbs the original
       pressure was too low
If the pressure remains unchanged or rises by less than 4 lbs
the original pressure was to high.
       Hope all this makes sense
       Cheers
       Alan

I have heard good things of the 'chalk trick' although I have
never actually had cause to try it.
       The concept goes:
Rub a band of chalk across the full width of your tyre, then
roll/drive the vehicle (in a straight line) so that the chalked
patch passes through the contact area. Study the chalk patch, if
the distortion is even across the whole width the tyre pressures
are correct, if the distortion is centred they are too high and
if it is focused on the shoulders they are too low.
This sounds plausible and a good way of setting the best tyre
pressures for any given loading, anybody actually done it? :-?
