Goodyear G90 warning
DIR By: stuey
Date: June 24, 2013, 7:51 am

Robbed from another forum:
Hi to all,
Just a heads-up for those of you running the Goodyear G90 on
your truck, please check to see if they were manufactured in
South Africa as we've recieved a Serious Safety Warning on these
tyres.
After five blow-outs in our unit, one causing a fatality, and
numerous cases of side-wall cracking being found on these tyres
they have been quarantined today throughout the Armed Forces.
The cracks tend to run around the circumference of the tyre near
to the rim.
Please check the sidewalls to see if you have these South
African manufactured tyres fitted, and please pass on the
warning to anyone you know running these tyres.
Many thanks.
Any further details available about DOT coding of affected
batches at all? Is it a replace "like for like" recall by
Goodyear or a "Fuck 'em" kind of deal?

Not sure any warranty will cover them when they find out you
dragged them out of a skip/canal/silage clamp/layby etc etc etc
Jim :-?

Interesting.
We had to VOR our trucks with SA G90s but weren't told why.
That's going to be a big bill replacing all those tyres. I
found 1 LR that did didn't have 4 SA tyres in my Wksp. That's
going to be 90% of the Armys LRs off the road.
Doesn't matter I have fuck all people trained to drive Land
Rovers since the training course is 2 weeks to get qualified to
drive a fucking Land Rover.

^^^^ nuts isn't it. The H&S lunatics conspiring with the course
designers to cram two days work into a fortnight....
....that said, and back to the original post, I believe that
Goodyear were planning not to rate the G90 for road use at all !

Ey up cunt.... all 4 of the tyres on my roadwheels came with
fucking Goodyear stickers on.... Nothing secondhand about
those... the spares, well that's a different matter entirely. I
guess mine have survived well so far as I keep them fully
inflated 45/60psi sort of thing. They're checked weekly, and no
issues in the time I've had them on.
