:-? I think with your plan you will be snapping standard half
shafts, unless you upgrade the axle.

The stock Rover rear end in a 109 had it's weak points hence
Land Rover moved to Salisbury axles later in production. AFAIK
the Salisbury is a Dana axle, it certainly looks very similar to
the axles my cousin's husband had under his '79 F350 4x4, just
narrower. I would expect the Rover axle to explode pretty
quickly with an LS1 motor and a heavy right foot... ;D

Wow its been a few weeks already... just had my 3rd kid so i
been head down!! I have a Salisbury rear axle but i can have any
axles I need made. If it can be broken, I will be the one to
break it! The good news is we can make it stronger faster and
better than before :blahblah I am going to put the stoutest
running gear know to mankind and I may put huge tires on it ( i
have no penis ) just to attract attention.

That's a lovely old bus you have. I'll be watching this with
interest. Please excuse my total ignorance, but what vehicle was
an LS1 originally fitted to?

There's a chap on here called John Eastwood who may insist that
if it can be broken then he is the one to break it! You may find
that you have some stiff competition on that score.

I will post pics as I go I promise! Been pretty busy doing paper
work :banghead would love to do a right hand drive
version...... @ Wooden - LS1 has been in several chevys .
corvette being one of the many. I believe 4.8, 5.3 and 6 liter
are the displacements available with that engine block. I am
still learning about all of that.
