Thanks gents! It is a solid rig, no rust problems! No engine or
transmission either. Its getting a 5.3 liter LS1 as soon as I
can find one as well as the auto trans and of course one of our
tranfer cases. In the meantime we are working on the brake kit.
I have also heard talk of 5 link suspension kits.....

 Love station wagons.
What's the plan with the rear axle with that sort of power?
Salisbury?

An early export station wagon in that condition is surely too
nice to fuck around with??

From what I understand the stock rear end and front end are
pretty bullet proof. As far as changing it from stock, the motor
and tranny in this rig are gone so matching numbers is not ever
going to happen, plus I would rather have the extra power and
convenience of an auto trans. I could live without the 5 link
suspension but dad wants to develop one and this is our test
rig. A Salisbury rear end would be nice and I saw one up at Tims
house this weekend. We have the motor and trans mounts already
being cut and they look great. I need to finish paying for it
then strip it down to the frame and do some cleaning and
painting. I want to do a good job getting it back on the road
after sitting for 10 or 15 years.
