Roof rack max load?

Hi,how much weight can I legally put onto the roofbars of my 88"
Land Rover?
Would 300kgs be taking the piss a bit?

about a 100kg is max load for a series - but that is evenly
distributed etc etc
ive had heavier on mine etc etc and its a pig on corners :haha:

Most of the roof bar kits I fit have a weight rating of 65
kilos,whatever they are.Mainly I'm talking Thule stuff which is
top of the range ish.
But that's on tin boxes not on proper cars.Van bars are rated
around 75 kilos.
I think you'd get a dead cow on the roof easy should you
accidentally run one over.

Don't think I've ever seen a roof loading quoted for a series,
but seem to remember defenders being 75 kg ( that includes the
roof rack)
Not that they won't carry more up there
