Considering fittting an electric winch with the neema cable. Is
there pre fabricated mounting plates you can buy or is it best
to measure up and get one cut at the metal shoppe. cheers donk

May not need to measure up. Warn winches do a diagram showing
all the bolts hole centres for mounting.
Another (third?) option is to look out for a winch bumber for
you particular winch (second hand and most likely off a coily
motor) and use that as a basis of a mount. Will come ready
folded up and with a fairlead if ya lucky.

Bonjour,
You have several options to fit a winch on a Series and
depending on the chosen winch you have a set "footprint" to
mount the winch. The WARN8274, the Superwinch Husky and the
general "Low Profile" winches have their own footprint and
cradle.
Please note that several "winchbumpers" have problems accepting
certain winches - esp. with modified motors.
We have a Superwinch mount for an X9 on the Hybrid and it is a
nice fit. Can show pics if you want.

Arjan I like pictures if you have the inclination Id like to see
em. Winch Bumper, is that the rollers which guide the winch
cable?

The Warn "cradle/mount" it's fitted on is really pretty simple
... flat plates with some bracing ...bolts through the bumper
on the front and picks up on the 3 chassis tags under the front
panel using a large section angle .

Great photos, thank you big time. ive got some good ideas now
on how to go about it. Theres a lot of different branded winches
to choose from but they look similar in design. The electric
drum roller style. They are getting compact for the advertised
pulling lb rating. few days ago saw a 9500 lb with dyneema
cable for AUD349.00. $249.00 with steel cable. Fleebay.
Couldnt tell you the brand but cheap. Spose you get what you
pay for. Mind you a bloke I know bought a cheap winch from ALDI
(German warehouse grocer here in Australia), (do you have them
in UK?), a couple of years ago and says its been reliable and
strong and used a few times each year. thanks again Donk.

Yes... we know ALDI. Famous for their treatment of their
employees...
T-Max (9,000 Lbs.) is a good one. Superwinch X9.
Be very careful buying a used one as you just don't know what
has been done with it so cable replacement is wise with those.
Make sure to have a cut out swith in the live feed for the winch
(we have a cut out for the solenoids, too)
IF you never used winches before - go out and get some proper
training !

yes will get training as Im not experienced with them. ive
experienced 1st hand how handy they are if you get into trouble,
as a passenger. donk
