Sound deadening

Has anyone got any experience of this kind of stuff?

I bought mine from a firm in Nottingham. They are primarily an
adhesive manufacturer for the auto industry. Think theyre called
Wayside adhesives. They sell packs of bitumen type pads.
Cheapest on the internet. I did the inside of my 110 csw with it
(oh shit...forgive me for I have sinned). Excellent stuff and
well worth the money. I think there are ten sheets to a pack for
about 20 squid inc delivery. A pack goes a long way! Can be used
under bonnet too. Google them mate. Much cheaper than ebay...

btw, if you do go that route, it cuts easy with normal kitchen
scissors (dont let the mrs catch you though), it moulds quite
easily around awkward bits, and sticks like shit to a blanket.
You only get one attempt at fitting it! Once it has stuck, you
are unlikely to be able to peel it off to reposition it.
Accuracy definately needed ;D

I'm wanting to do the engine side of the bulkhead and under the
floors and gearbox tunnel on the 80" before i go to the Pyranees
'cos the Tdi is too loud.
I'll have a google and see what I can turn up then if you say it
work well.

Thats exactly where I used the stuff. I covered the whole of the
seat box in it too. Bulkhead inside and out and under bonnet.
Just on with doing my 88 the same. Even removed the dash to
cover all the way up. Really is excellent stuff.

Wayside, worked a treat.

I origionally bought my stuff through their ebay shop, but they
seemed to fall out with ebay and started selling direct from
their website. Was cheaper buying direct too. They obviously
back on ebay!

the ambulance in the US.

I'd
definitely use it again, it certainly helps and is paintable.
The 3m pads were $99 for 10 if I remember so the alternative
above is a fair bit cheaper.
