Modular rims

Hi guys,
I've got a set of modular rims (with round holes, look a bit
like Wolf rims) which are supposed to have been taken off a
series.
However, the centre hole is bigger than the one in standard
wheels, so when it's fitted there's an 1/8" or so gap around the
hub.
Is this ok, or should the centre hole be a reasonably tight fit
to the hub? I don't know how much mechanical stress is taken by
the hub/wheel fit or if it's all in the studs ???
The reason I'm asking is that I've also got a set of 235/85
BFGoodrich M/T tyres on disco rims >vom< so thought about
pulling them off to go on the modular rims (6.5") - saves trying
to find some Series rims which are wide enough :rolleye0012:
Ok, I know they won't look 'standard', but they were from a swap
so I don't know whether to use them or sell them on to a Disco
owner :-?
Oh, and the alternative is to stick them on a set of 8 spoke
wheels I've got laying around :haha: unless anyone has some
series/debender rims wide enough going spare?
Thanks,
Robin.

Yes, they'll be okay. The wheels are centred by the conical
tapers on the wheel nuts and loads taken through the studs. I've
run similar wheels for over 100K miles without problem. Just
remember to check the wheel nuts are still tight after a few
miles running and settling in.

I would suggest that they would be fine with the metrc
'mushroom' studs like the late 2a and S3 had. The earlt studs
are a little weedy to take the stresses

Funnily enough the I had the same and I did.................
Nothing ::)
They might be gay but at least they are "out" rather than closet
debender products hidden under the bonnet.
BTW jolly nice tyres!!
