       Engine Number??
   DIR By: NUGGETT

       Evening all,
Is the engine number that, that is knocked into the block? I'm
going to be all grown up and tell the dvla I've a different
engine but not sure if the one on the block is the correct one.
Plus, the one on the block of the 2.5 is a bit 'one number
       heavy'!! 11J0011 1A
Does that look right?? I've looked and looked and looked and I
swear thats all I can see. The 1's are quite distinctive from
the J, so I think its right?
       Ta

I've just tried to do the same, DVLA are now demanding I provide
them with a letter headed receipt from the garage which fitted
the engine stating engine number, cc and fuel type.
Original documents only, to be returned after they have checked
       them ???
       I wish I hadn't bothered telling them.

That could be a probelm.... got the engine from Withams, and
their docs have no reference to the engine number.......and
       like you, no garage involvement
Should I leave it? Perhaps I should ring them or pop down to
       the DiVy office in Ipswich????

Just go down there and ask them what you want and tell them to
do it. If they won't then simply shoot them in the face with a
sawn off shotgun. Won't get your paperwork sorted but you'll
       feel a lot better.
PS : Don't forget to remove the tape from the CCTV recorder.

If you have fitted it yourself I think they will accept the
invoice for the engine, if you send me the engine no I will send
you an amended one with the number on it?

Better still, BLAST the shit out of the recorder with the sawn
off whilst shouting "You'll never take me alive copper!"......
