       Help, Diesel 2.25 won't start!
   DIR By: Moogling

       ---------------------------------------------------------
I'm struggling to get my 2.25 to run
Can anyone recommend a compression testing tool?
I've Bled the fuel system with new diesel
       Injectors are getting fuel
       Glow plugs have power
Tried turning over with stop cable in and out, and accelerator
       down and up, all combinations.
Tried tuning over on the key, and without key, cable from
       battery, straight to motor.
I can think of two possible problems:
       No compression?
Lack of power in the battery - The Gauge is halfway up on the
dashboard, the battery is old, but I thought the speed it turned
       over wasn't terrible.
Any suggestions I may have missed?
       Thanks very much,
       Matt

I had that problem before and it was a glow plug that was at
fault and as they are wired in series it was causing the others
not to 'glow' and I wasn't able to fire up the engine. You could
try checking those first as you say you have fuel and injectors
       are ok

has the vehicle ran for some time? Why not have a drag round
your way to get everything working again. My vehicle would not
start on a key after a rebuild so needed a drag to get it all
       working well again.

It's stood for the last 3 years apparently! so yep, could be
       the problem.
Unfortunately it came without a gearbox, so no use dragging it
       about at the minute! haha!
       Thanks for the suggestions

I would give it a sniff of easy start - but many wouldn't. If
you don't go mad it could be just enough to get it running. They
do need plenty of battery power so maybe charge it up. Keep the
       throttle wide open when cranking.

you don't need to worry about the glow plugs if you do. I did
use some myself, it is called desperation

Easystart's great. If it's 23:30 on a Sunday night, raining and
you're pissed it's by far the easiest way to bleed up an 11
litre DAF bus that's run out of diesel. You do need two cans
spraying simultaneously to get the revs up though... rofl

Righto, I've been back to it this morning. Filmed it to see the
white smoke, but looks like not much if any coming out. Have a
watch and laugh 'cause I melted the heat gun...

Injector 1 is stuck in, GRR! i've left it soaking in plus gas
for now, will these turn in the bores, if lent on?

The other injectors look a bit rough, but i've no idea what
       they're supposed to be like.

To add insult to injury, the glow plugs are only getting half a
volt each.... :thud - any likely cause?
