Working Bank Holiday

I had to work yesterday morning but didn't let it spoil my day.
I called in at the Chasewater Railway on the way back and spent
a few hours riding behind and snapping a lovely engine that used
to work at Nechells power station.
The smell of coal smoke and steam oil - you can't beat it.

I was delivering a quarter ton of breaded mushrooms to an
address in Holly Street. I couldn't park because some wanker had
left a Sprinter van blocking the street. The bloke who took
delivery looked like he had a dead skunk on his head.

No. I parked the van in the station car park, bought a ticket,
and rode on the train. I can't stand these photographer types
who go to a preserved railway and take pics from the lineside
but never pay anything toward the running of the place.

Nice little snaps.
I'd love to know how many times they need to replace the
fishplates at that joint just beyond the points. Bet they
regularly crack in Winter when a train set goes over and tests
the tension of the angle.
