Mini led conversion el cheapo!

Thought Id show a very easy led conversion on lamps fitted to
series and defender vehicles.
My reason for trying this was the tendency for bulbs to come
loose and fittings to corrode. This conversion could work for
all lamps excluding the brake llght which Im still pondering on
:D A led flasher unit may be required.
I chose to replace the old light units although this is not
neccesary if your lamps are in good condition. The led's are a
simple 20 super white led board easily available on ebay for
less than £2 each.
Here is the new lamp and led unit ready for fitting

The original components are removed from the lamp and the new
led board suck on with the supplied double sided tape. The led
wires were then led through the rear of the lamp & soldered to
the lamps original wiring. Simples

Proof of the pudding so to speak with the original lamp on the
left!

They also make great interior lights as well. At least you can
find things with these lamps lit.

Are they legal? Well the lamp lens is E marked ;D Are they
waterproof? To a degree I would imagine but if you really like
dumping yer series in deep puddles, a bit of sealant would give
you peace of mind.
The phone camera makes it look brighter with the glare but in
reality they are fine!

I once got an MOT failure for having sidelights that were "too
bright".
Just saying. Otherwise I'd be doing this myself.

You could always fit the lower output versions ;-)
