       Found these pics of this, I took them about 8 years ago at
       Carlisle Airport around the back of the Solway Aviation Museum,
       no idea if it's still there...it's not all that it seems
       though...

       Thank god. I thought it was another flaming scrap railway wagon
       for a minute....
       ....looks like it might need a bit of fettling before heading

       Looks like the Raiders of the Lost Ark one - wasn't that based
       on a GMC Deuce-and-a-half?

       It cannot be a Mercedes van because it's not white :-?
       And furthermore there is no sliding door on the side ::)
       Mobile radio/ radar truck it has to be 1950s of some sort :o

       It's definitely not a Mercedes truck - it's a mock-up built on a
       GMC CCKW 353 chassis with the original rear Mobile Workshop
       body:

       Correct!! It's a replica, it was built for a film I believe but
       I can't remember the film it was in. It turned up at the Airport
       Museum years ago (going by the number plate on my Lightweight in
       the first pic of it I'd say probably the winter of 2004/2005.
       The info about it used to be on their website but it's gone now
       so I presume the truck has too.
