Tyres...

The tyres (Colway MT's) on my Lightweight are totally
fucked...shit loads of tread left on 'em, lucky if they've done
5000 miles, but after 8 years they are cracked to buggery and at
the last MoT the gadgey said they really needed changing.
Anyhow, it's MoT time again in a few weeks so I guess I'd better
think about getting some new tyres sometime soon. I'm sticking
with the current size 205R16 as it suits the Lightweight (yeah I
know SLT's and all that!). I've been having a shufti at what's
available (more than I thought to be honest) and I wondered if
anyone had any thoughts on these ones...

Any thoughts or other choices? I can't decide if I should go MT
or AT? The MT's look better but the AT is probably a better
choice for what I use the truck for?

Sorry Arjan... for all their assumed attributes, those ATs will
look totally out of place on Mike's LWT. In my humble opinion of
course.
Let's be honest Mike you aren't commuting in it, the MTs will
look mucho bettero and when you do go out for a trundle less
chance of getting stuck in a gateway on your tod.

Yup, think your probably right Kev, for the mileage I do in it
it's not like I'd get any benefit from the AT's and they
probably would look a little odd on the Lightweight. I think if
I'd done a lot of miles in it or it was my daily driver then I
think I'd of gone with Arjan's choice of the AT's though.

I run 205 Avon Rangemasters A/T crap in mud and snow, have got
tubes in tubeless tyres and get more than my share of punctures
from the inner tyre chafing on the tubes. If only I could wear
the buggers out !

I put the later tubeless wheels on mine to sort that problem!

put plently of talcum powder on the tube.
It acts as a lubricate and helps reduce punctures due to
chaffing.

Been looking at them Hankook MT's on the net and it looks like
the buggers have got white lettering, only on the outline of the
letters but even so it's a big fucking no no!!!
Since I've not had any gay tyres with white lettering before I'm
wondering how easy it use the remove it? Since it's not the
whole of the lettering just the outline I'm presuming it'll be a
bit easier to get shot off than full white lettering but what do
I need to do? Sand paper or do I need to get the knife out...?
If it'll not come off I'll not be buying Hankook MT's I
reckon...
