       Big Ears
By: NiteMare Date: January 15, 2012, 11:41 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       new bits as collected yesterday
  HTML http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh311/NiteMare_08/My%201965%20109/Summer2011156.jpg
this will give me an excuse to get my finger out and replace the
       engine and front axle tube
(i'll start to complete this thread with the rebuild over the
next few days as i don't seem able to copy it off the old site)

ok i'll start with just a little
this is as found looking quite good but with a fair bit of rot
in the bulkhead and a bit round the chassis, 2.25 petrol engine,
sweet 2a gearbox and a very nice Aeroparts winch (along with an
easily repairable bulkhead sitting in the tub)

  HTML http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh311/NiteMare_08/My%201965%20109/Picture003.jpg[/img]
i towed him home and parked him up for the next 12 months whilst
i collected parts and contemplated my belly button fluff
eventually i made a start, bought Les Cromie' footwells and got
       stuck into the bulkhead repairs

eventually after cutting out lots of bits and glueing new bits
in we got to this stage

Can I ask, when you repaired the bulkhead, did you make up the
steel angles to replace the rotten door seal retainers or is it
       an off the shelf angle?

Always liked this motor - very nice indeed! There's just
something about lights-in-grille 109"s I really like! Where did
       the winch end up?
