What do you class as a lot of money? I bought some off of Ebay
the other day £24 for a pair on a BIN with free postage, paid
for on Sunday evening, got told they were being made Tuesday
morning (Bank Holiday Monday) failed delivery yesterday due to
going out for five minutes, picked up from the Post Office
today :)
These are the ones, not the cheapest but quite funky

If you want, I'll take some photo's of them tomorrow and you can
judge for yourself?
However according to the Beeb's shitty morning TV the only
people that buy number plates online are Bank robbers and other
criminals up to no good :smiley-furious:

Thorpey, are you going to use the Series 1 as the getaway car
once you've done the bank job?
Cor, it'd be like Bullitt in slow motion.................. ;D
Or maybe use the S1 as the decoy, and borrow a Mk2 Jag for the
actual getaway? There's bound to be someone on here who can
give first hand advice in this subject. ;D

I've had a set from Bulldog recently

HTML http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110904333170
- I'm a picky sod and
their dies are correct for '63-'72. Still around £24 a pair.
Good value I'd say.
For proper authentic pre-suffix 6 character plates the digit
size should be 3 1/2" opposed to the later 3 1/8" size and
somewhere like Chestnut

/>or Framptons

are a good choice.

another vote for framptons
HTML http://pl8s.co.uk/
easy to deal
with & my plate looks great, I was after an aluminium plate
with acrylic letters on it &they were one of the few people that
would do them

3 1/2" does look much better on a Series 1. The devil's in the
detail. :girly:
Mind you painted plates look even better - have you got someone
at work who could do you some?

Another vote for Framptons here. I needed raised digits on a
reflective back ground. Bit pricey but a proper job...

This is a pic of the number plate that I bought from that guy on
ebay:

I've had plates from Framptons before and wholeheartedly agree
that they offer an excellent service, however IMHO unless
you're after 'rivet counter' plates the extra money that they
cost is not justifiable (IIRC it was about £57 for 3 plates last
year including delivery)
Bulldog plates (on ebay) are fine too, quick delivery and not
too bad on the price IIRC.
