I started a thread on the old forum about Canals - so have
decided to re-launch it here (DYSWIDT? ;D )

Tuel Lane Lock - here in Sowerby Bridge and part of the Rochdale
Canal. This is supposed to be one of the deepest locks in the
country.

The canal basin at Ellesmere in Shropshire - its a great shame
this old warehouse is being left to decay, it would make a
smashing bar I reckon!

The two top photos bring back memories :).
Spent a week in Telford fishing with me dad. Stayed at the geust
house next to the aquaduct, Nice pub just in the wharfe too.
And another holiday was spent on a Shire cruiser, Hereford. I
belive its long since sold on. There was a real shouty lock
keeper at the Tuel lane locks, He frighted the crap out of me
:-\, Must have only been about 10!.
Another interesting point is the Ransomes hydraulic lock,
Salterhebble. Just see the top of it from the road to West vale.

I will have to get a picture of that hydraulic lock gate at
Salterhebble - I drive past it every day!
This one a lock near Marsden on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal
