Ey up folks, Thanks for the replies.
R-Rose, I cant see any reason why it should'nt work, unless the
internal parts are different between petrol and diesel. Ill do a
bit of research and get back to you, Im glad you enjoy the
thread, its was its all about.
Joe, Im more and more favouring the cream body sides and roof, i
think it being all it will seem very boxy, so the lighter
colours will break it up nicely.
       right then more progess,
we've got the floor fitted in place to stablise the tub while we
removed the old rear cross rail and marked out, drilled and
       fitted the new one.

the old and new rear cross rails and the new one fitted.
Ive also cleaned up and fitted the seatbelt mounting, this was a
little more involved than I hoped due to the ali behind the
steel mounting was totally gone. So Ive made and fitted doubling
plates on either side of the front cross rail and were they come
up through the floor behind the seats. I arent decided weather I
fit seat belts or not, what are your thoughts on this?

Ive also cleaned up and fitted the stiffers which go behind the
door latches, the same needed doing here, with regards doubling
       plates.

Ive also cut out the bottom section of both rear quarters as
they were both corroded and had been plated over with 1/16" ali
and steel bolts which did nothing to help the matter.

So Im remaking them flush with doubling plates behind once
again, I think this way is far neater.

G'day Chris, from what i have been told it was just the internal
side of things that were a problem :-? having never used one on
a diesel i don't know but the reason others use a different type
but for the life of me i can't remember why :blahblah so sorry
for mentioning it when i can't remember why :banghead air leaks
       maybe.
I am seriously off back to bed sorry. Brad.

       Hello folks,
I`ve got a fair bit done recently,
I`ve got my new toolboxes made, one opposite the existing one at
the rear and one utilizing LHS spare wheel well hole. I`ve made
these using 1/8th ali plate, I`ll fix them in finally tomorrow.

       The plate I started with.

       The drivers side toolbox.

       The passenger side toolbox.
I`ve also modified the crossmembers under the floor from the
pressed steel muck collector to simple 1" ali box section,
cheaper as well £20 for a 5 metre length which does the whole
lot instead of £20+ for one of the steel ones.

They will fastened with self tapping screws into the plywood.

How do, Its been awhile I know, but Ive got loads done.
The toolboxes are finished apart from the lids which just need
       fitted.
I`ve welded up all the holes that were`nt needed, mostly on
       bulkhead behind the seats.
The inside of the tub has been rubbed down and primered.
The underside of the tub has had one coat of underbody shultz,
       with a another coat tomorrow.

       Now then,
I apologize for the lack of posts but I have been busy, with a
few jobs the main is and still is getting the electrics sort,
now my old man can take most of the credit for this part, Im ok
with welding bashing lumps of plate and fixing boilers,
       electrics woah dude, ??? :o
so weve got the starting side things and front lighting loom
sorted. Were fitting hazard flashers as well, if any of have
done this how have you gone about doing it ? Were also putting
power into the rear so she can be used as a camper of sort this
will put in with the rear loom which weve to make yet.
Right the one sliding seat frame that came with the truck was
hacked about to fit different seat so the mounting points for
the seat and back rest was gone along with the stop block. So
Ive bought another frame off t'bay and copied the mounts and
made new ones. ;D do you just love being to make stuff.
