Rough valuation required please.

I've been to see a motor today..... nobody else (as far as I
know) has been to see it, stood for the best part of 8 years,
it's a 1980 109 12 seater 6 pot, all complete, OD fitted, galv
roof rack, all interior unmessed with, interior all there but
used as a builder's storage shed..... carpets and door cards
missing (That's hardly a problem) and really (Well, the offside)
straight bodywork. Underdoor steel sills look a little crusty,
but I was wearing good trousers therefore didn't wish to incur
the "Wrath of Wife...." All window channels are stuffed, but
door bottoms usable, door tops might go again with a little TLC.
Originally registered near Blackpool in 1980, and has a 14 digit
VIN..... (not the usual 17) on a BL CARS plate. Leaking fuel
tank, brake master kenked, those are what took it off the road,
and I noticed a bolt missing from the T/stat housing. Is it
worth big money or should I try to sneak in with a low bid? I
already know that £250 is TOO low. But he seems like a very
genuine "hoarder" type chap, and wants it to go to a home where
there is none of the gaudy chequerplate crap etc.... he's seen
what I drive, and approves of the pile of chassis' on my
garden... I WOULD like it for myself, but if he wants too big a
price, I could pass details on to a trusted party if need be.
He's a very private gentleman, and doesn't welcome cold callers.
Anyone got a rough idea? I thought it was a little late for a 6
pot, but it's ID seems to check out. I've not heard it running,
but have no reason to suspect it's a dud. Obviously the value
increases with it working, so I'm prepared for a "sold as seen"
idea. Just need to organise a trailer if it happens......

try about 400 and max out at 700 - see what he says

Stage 1's were released in 79 but not for the uk market, we
didn't get them until 1980
There are a few 1980 6 pots about
If all that's stopping it being on the road, is those little
jobs I reckon 750ish would be about there
Complete re chassis type LWB SW rebuild projects seem to make
that

Offer the fellow 700-750ish less what it is going to cost to
recover i.e. trailer hire & fuel?

Oh yeah, it's all Limestone... :smilewide: Even thoough it's
covered in leaves and it has Wisteria growing into the roofrack,
I still want it! It will need a full set of decent springs, I
reckon this one might suit Paras. Am I going soft? S3 Petrol?
Should I check for signs of Musicals, glittery bowler hats and
sun dried tomatoes?

According to a chap on the EMLRA that only happened for one
year, the left hooker Lightweight is the same and a 1980. Rare
you know. ;-)
As for value you'd get £350 for the overdrive, £100 for the
roofrack before flogging off the rest of it - I'd probably start
around £500 and go up to £750ish. You can borrow my trailer if
you can be arsed coming to Surrey to collect it...

The sill/side frames can be fairly expensive to replace with new
ones.

Start at £500 then haggle up to £750. Sill/side frames can be
rebuilt with parts from yrm or new available at a price. Would
be a cool motor though.

have a good look at the c post/ sill area behind the little
triangular panels ( which are NLA) they seem to suffer in this
area, I think it is beacause the ally panel is riveted to the
Steel C post.
