G'day mate and good work. I think the old style headlamp
position was much better looking than the later in the wings
       position :smilewide:

Fixed the engine oil leak (I seem to spend my life fixing oil
leaks on this Land Rover). Turned out that the oil pump was
knackered, oil was pouring out faster than I could top it up.
Weirdly, having removed the pump there wasn't any obvious of
sign of what was causing the issue. The new pump looked
identical to the old one, albeit more shiny. I struggled for a
while trying to fit it and it just wouldn't quite line up
properly. Upon further investigation I found that the
replacement was slightly longer than the old unit. The issue was
clearance with the engine mount. I tried to grind back the mount
insitu using one of those pathetic grinding wheels attached to a
drill. Though I had some 'success' it was a fairly useless
attempt. Ended up taking out the engine mount and attacking it
with the grinding wheel. After a couple of trial re-fits I
managed to get it to fit with the oil pump already attached.
It's made a big difference to the running, it's much smoother
now and also seems to stay at a cooler temperature running. I
didn't think it would make such a difference.
Fixed the headlights too, the wiring was completely burned out,
something had come detached and shorted it out. Strange that the
fuse didn't go. I ended up replacing all the wiring for the
headlights. I now have dipped beam working but main beam isn't
quite sorted. According to my investigations it's the dip switch
that needs replacing. Not sure how easy a replacement can be
       sort in Australia...

If it's anything like mine there won't be a fuse for the lights.
