Greetings from East Sussex

Evening all,
Just come back to the forum after time away so posting a
greeting.
Bought a 1980 SWB 2.25 petrol last year which I've only now got
the chance to get out of the garage and start using properly.
Taken the truck cab off but got to find out yet whether the mice
have eaten the tilt which has been folded up all winter under
cover. Also got to see whether the cheapo parabolics fitted by
the previous owner have settled down a bit.
This is the third Series III I've owned in twenty five years.
First one was my daily driver when we lived in London and I've
got to say I agreee with a poster (I think) on this forum who
said they're the perfect London car. When you start to inch out
of a side road into a line of slow moving cars, they always
always stop for you.....
I'm ashamed to admit that next, for a brief period in the late
1990's, I owned an inferior vehicle with wheelbase 2 inches
longer than is technically correct. In the end I couldn't stand
the mockery and cat-calls as I'd roam from town to town to hide
my shame. So I got rid and vowed to clear my name....by buying
a proper vehicle.
That Series 111 finally rotted out beyond my skill and pocket a
couple of years ago so has just been sold for repair/spares to a
well known LR repairer near here.
So, hope to keep the current one for a long time and start
teenage son driving it soon.
Good to make the acquaintance of you guys again.
Cheers
George

You sound more than a 'trainee', anyone who has had one rot from
under them has to be some kind of 'further advanced' type. A
change of name me thinks and so welcome.
