Checking in - from leafy Berkshire

Hi. I've found my way over here, after many years frequenting
various MG forums. I've just bought a 1978 Series III, which
arrives on Saturday, on the trailer that will take away the 76
Midget that I've been 'restoring' for the last two years. I also
have a somewhat dead MGF, which I got to 190k with only one HGF.
I was trying to get it to the moon - but it had other ideas.
The Landy has a new MOT, starts on the button, runs well, and
doesn't appear to leak or fart anything worrying, so apart from
needing to attend to a paint job that looks like a monkey has
been at it with a toothbrush - I think I've got myself a sound
one. Obviously, with my history of MG ownership, I am fully
aware that that was a really stupid thing to say, but I'm used
to sitting by the side of the road, waiting for a recovery truck
and sobbing quietly.
I have an impressive collection of spanners (for a girl) and a
big hammer, so I'm confident that my Landy experience will be as
enjoyable as my MG days

Welcome - hope you like it here
No worries - LR's are nice to work on (yeah, right..) and this
is a helpful bunch (really..) If you've worked on MG's - Series
III will be familiar, if somewhat more heavy.
Looking forward to see some pics.
Enjoy the Series !!

It did look quite familiar when I opened the bonnet!
I had a series II a few years back, which was a bit 'quirky'.
This was before I got interested in making things work better,
so I carried a hammer at all times, for hitting the starter
solenoid when it refused to start. I think the combination of
dealing with that, and my recent Midget fiddling should stand me
in good stead, but no doubt I'll be on here bleating at some
point because I've broken it, or taken something apart and
forgotten how to put it back together (my signature trick!)
