Greetings From Nova Scotia Canada!

I just joined up so thought I would introduce myself.
Our Landy (Gromit) is a '62 SWB that was someone else's
abandoned project that I bought on E-Bay sight unseen (I learned
my lesson, believe me!). In the end the only thing it had going
for it was a new galvanized frame and a solidly rebuilt bulkhead
- everything else was either worn and/or rusted to death,
misassembled and knakered, or missing altogether!
It has been mobile under its own steam (and smoke) since last
August when my 18 year old Son started using it as a daily
driver (short distance, and he can take the bus if Gromit is
laid up). Brakes are an ongoing source of expense and effort for
incremental gains. I rebuilt the The engine and tranny will need
work but after rebuilding the engine head, it runs well enough
for our needs. Amazingly, Gromit was caught on Google
Streetscape (3 nice shots!)

I belonged to the S2 Club until recently when I decided that as
a long distance member, I wasn't able to get much value for the
$$.
We have a good club here called M.O.R.E. (Maritime Organization
of Rover Enthusiasts) but I am hoping that this will be the
place to tap into a bigger network for sharing ideas, knowledge,
successes, failures and general support for our mutual
affliction.
I have two other old LBC's in the family, a '61 Austin 850 Mini
that I have had for almost 25 years, and a '65 Triumph Herald
Convertible (called a Sports 1200 over here)

Welcome along fella ...
I'm sure you'll find it a rich source of humour and knowledge on
here ...S2 club is good if you love your rivets ...however we
like to use ours and are happy not to polish preferring to just
"Drive 'Em"
Feel free to drag up a stool and sink a pint with us whilst
talking rubbish etc ...I've still got the Triumph herald 13/60
in the garage i first passed my driving test in ...(Still in
bit's from 20 odd years ago) so you're in good company .

We'll be having a big (by NS standards) Land Rover event near
there (Blockhouse) this Labour Day (last weekend of August). If
you're visiting your Mom, you could come and check it out!

Welcome Andrew. My sister in law lives in Kingston, NS and in
the early 60s I spent some time in Glace Bay, Cape Breton
scaring myself and a few of the locals learning how to drift a
car on gravel roads in my father's Plymouth Barracuda!
Great part of the world and I don't get out there as often as I
would wish.
