Short question i know but never seen later doors to look at up
       close and personal.
Can later anti burst door catches be fitted to series 1 doors?

Series 1?? Don't know, but to fit to a 2 or 3 you need to bore
out a hole in the door panel to locate the lock mechanism.
Dare I say it , I'll be taking a template from a defender rear
       door to fit mine................... >vom<

Dont know for sure but imagine the doors could be adjusted to
fit, after all the later stuff works the same way its just
       bigger

I would have thought that if normal series 2/3 non anti burst
locks fit then anti burst ones would fit, as seen as they use
the same holes and have pretty much the same profile. If that's
the case, then all I see that you have to do is drill a hole
       like others have said.

Series 1 doors are different to s2 or 3,
You won't be able to just bolt them on I wouldn't think but you
may be able to bodge something......

As Luke says they would need "bodging"!
Also depends on the series one, as it will be more straight
forward for an 86/88 than an 80. Either way the cathes and
       handles differ quite a lot.

Sorry should have been more specific, 1958 year. The latch on
the door is mounted on a pressed steel plate and then bolted to
the door, this plate is fracturing and allowing the door to flex
       and pop open slightly.
I was wondering if sll/lll locks would fit and if they used this
       pressed plate (part no 302852).
       Does anyone have a pair?
