Bought classic car weekly on Wednesday as we were quiet for an
hour or so in the afternoon
I was checking out the auction prices when this grabbed my
       attention
estimated between 16,000 and 20,000 it made rather more and
       stole the show apparently.
Not bad for a sportscar auction!.

Very nice but far too much money!! I wouldn't pay that much for
one, as much as I love an 80"!! That sort of money would be
going towards a nice traction engine, with a scruffy S1 towed
behind (or the current IIa or III, should funds not stretch to a
       I as well :P)

There's a Series 1 around these parts that I saw at a show last
year. It really was immaculate. The paintwork on the chassis
was probably smoother and shinier than most of us have on the
bodywork. Everything was immaculate, I would suggest it was in
better condition than when it rolled out of the factory.
I spoke to the owner, and upset him, when tongue in cheek I told
him it wasn't a proper landrover, as it didn't appear to be
leaking oil anywhere. Someone told me he paid nearly £5K just
for the paint job. I wonder what that one is actually worth?

Classic car owners don't usually partake of the old Bolivian
       Marching Powder......
