Who has side exit exhaust here

My series exhaust connected to a td corroded off yesterday,
thinking straight thru side exit to blast gay cyclists with
black smoke after they've cycled 2 abreast and held me up in
Devon lanes..
And it will sound cooler
But will this make me a yobbo?

i have a strait thu side exit exhaust connected to a 19J TD...
sounds alright, not too loud at all, gives a nice 'agri' feel,
which i like, i was told 'the turbo kind of acts as i silencer'
:-?
not a great pic but you can just about see it...

On the two 200TDi Carawagons we've got on the road, we use the
rear box from the 200TDi donor and exit just in front of the
rear wheel.
Yes, a straight through does sound nice, but the droning can get
tiring, especially on long motorway runs.
On one of my 109s (Rex the Rat, now gone to another member on
here ) I fitted a Prima TDi and straight through
exhaust with side exit. That was great to drive around town -
turbo on song and a nice rasp when you took your foot off, but
the new owner fitted a single silencer to keep his neighbours
happy.
For my next Carawagon project, I've already got a 300TDi donor
sat on my trailer, waiting to be stripped, and that too will
have the rear box from the 200/300TDi.

Side exit straight through on the 88 tdi and twin side exit
almost straight through on the 101.
Got a video of the 88 somewhere...

I had one on my 109. It sounded shit. Got on my nerves like you
wouldn't believe. It runs better and uses less fuel with the
correct item on. ALso, being where it was, had I taken it off
road, it would have been knocked off, as it compromised the RBO
angle, and was all on the nearside where you couldn't see it.
Stick to a standard routing type system. LR didn't spend 12 quid
developing the exhaust for you to go messing....

Mines a straight through on the 2.8 but its a bigger bore and
follows the original route of the old exhaust.....drive with the
window open and it sounds great close the window and you can't
hear it...all the noise is coming out the back behind me so i
can't hear it in the cab...if its farting away just under the
passengers arse it gets on my tits after a while.....and if your
towing anything heavy long distance..you'll be really cheesed
off after about 5 mins

both my 200tdi's are fitted with straight through exhausts that
follow the original path, 52mm bore if i remember correctly
they're both daily drivers and have been all i've had on the
road for the last 4-5 years, if you're worried about the note
from the exhaust i guess you've got better soundproofing in the
cab than me as i can hardly hear mine with the windows closed or
door tops fitted

I had one ,bit of a rush job then i went to wales ???.Soon made
another when i got back using a disco back box .
Had to remake a new one this week, straight through no box exit
at the normal place, sounds ok in the cab.
In short side exit exhaust's are shit if you are going further
then the shop.
