Series 3 heaters

I know there are many threads on the forum about heaters but can
any one tell me should my blower have twin speeds it only seems
to have one with no noticeable change in speed when the switch
is at the bottom. It is the snail type blower probably a Smiths.
It is very asthmatic as they all are. Any useful comments would
be useful

AFAIK
Some have two speeds and some have one ...(My Late S3 FFrock has
two ...though my other S3 only has a single speed ) Think dual
speed motors usually have a wire wound ceramic resister fitted
to them to give the lower speed .
In other words a single speed is no faster than a dual speed one
on high :-?

SFAIK, military S111's were single speed and civilian ones were
two-speed.

My 1982 hicap has only one speed, but my 1981 88" had two
speeds. So your guess is as good as mine.

'72 88, 2 speed switch, can make the motor work at 2 different
speeds, but not position 1 slow position 2 fast on the switch.
I've got slow or fast on position 1 and can only change speed by
moving the wire position on the back of the switch, I've
probably got it wired the wrong way ::) It's low down on my list
of stuff to do though.
