Bulkhead removal question

I am stripping my Series 3 for the first time and need to remove
and then strip down the bulkhead. Is it better to remove the
bulkhead along with the steering box and column still attached
and then remove them from the bulkhead, or to remove the
steering box and column first?
In both cases will the column pass through the bulkhead with the
ignition switch still attached or do you have to drill out the
anti shear bolts?

the shear/anti-tamper bolts can often be undone with a hammer
and centre punch, i very much doubt you'll be able to get the
complete assembly through the bulkhead
the bulkhead can be removed complete with mounting
plates/steering box/pedal boxes as long as you disconnect all
the linkages and hydraulics (and wiring) from the rest of the
vehicle, or you can spend the time dismantling it whilst still
on the chassis
it does actually make it easier to move around with everything
stripped off it though as they're clumsy and heavy if moving it
on your own, plus there'll be the risk of damaging the dash
panels should you struggle and knock into something/trip up
i've one that was complete when i took it off, the first thing i
managed to damage was the unmarked dash top :2mo5pow:

Think I will go down the route of stripping everything off with
the bulkhead in place.

take loads of photos so you know where all the wee bits and bobs
go when when you reassemble it.
