SI 107/109 rear tub for a trailer?
       By: 1960SeriesII Date: February 22, 2013, 4:02 am

I know this might be a long-shot, but how realistic is it to
find a SI 107/109 pick-up rear tub which could be used (along
with the rear half of some rotten chassis that could be welded)
to build a trailer? These tubs look the most convenient, having
high sides and being large enough to accomodate stuff, but they
also seem to be rather rare. The added benefit would be that a
hood stick set could be sourced quite easily, although the hood
would have to be tailor-made to avoid having a strange front
       opening.
Would like to create something along the lines of this:

...but wouldn't want to ruin a restore-able truck, they're too
nice to cut up. The whole thought is just a very vague plan, a
HCPU rear tub similar to parksy's trailer would also be nice,
but wouldn't look "correct" behind Jekyll :)
Tempted by the 86/88" rear tub advertised here plus the 86"
chassis in Germany advertised on LRSOC, but the resulting
       trailer would be rather small...

You need to talk to STAVROS of this parish.
He has got one already made in his garden! And it has the hoops
       on it.

You mean to contact him and extract some insider info on how to
make one? Or should I go and give him an offer he can't refuse?
       :executioner: ;D

I'm not certain but I reckon it would be up for grabs.

I would sack the rear end of a landy chassis and go sankey wide
track- works well with my hi-cap rear body. NO faffing for
lights, hitch welding shitty rear cross members, sorting the
       axle etc.
I also wanted to do a 107/9 rear tub before I sold all the bits
       :banghead.
Should be spot on- will measure my hi-cap tub and tell you if it
       is a similar length

Oi Mr Scruff, your as bad as my wife ‘clearing up for me‘
I got it as is, a standard narrow sankey chassis with a 109 tub
on top. Side opening tailgate is a boon.

Stavros, can't see the picture, any other link?
Parksy, Mike, Kev, thanks for the suggestions. Mike's trailer
doesn't look half-bad. How old is that photo again? ;D

Just thought I would update this as I managed to find a series
one lwb rear tub for my Sankey today; for the princely sum of
£50 with the tailgate! (I nearly fell over when I heard the
price) so I whipped the hi cap body of my trailer and promptly
       sold that!
Next is to fab up some mounts to set it on properly...
