Gear lever question

Hello all !
Quick question on gear levers....
so on my SIII the "main" gear lever is really slack and seems to
have a load of play, i took the gearbox tunnel off last night
and had a look and where the bottom of the lever sits in the
selectors it looks like there could be some form of bush missing
? its just metal on metal, so my question is, is there a bush
meant to be there or is the end of my leaver just warn out ?
i did take a pic with my phone but some how i have managed to
leave the phone at home this morning !! ???
thanks all !!

There's an O ring on the ball at the bottom which can take up
some of the slack. I also seem to recall there being a machine
screw in the base plate somewhere that may take up some of the
slack, but I've never done that so may be wrong on that one!

The grub screw in the side of the aluminium housing can take
some off the pay out as it work for me. But the O ring seal
often wears away on the bottom ball end off the gear stick.

Very early Series III had a molded bush on the lower end of the
lever which disintedgrated after a few years. I doubt if any of
these are still operational. It may just have been on North
american models
