cubby box fitting

Hello can anyone give me any tips to fit my cubby box into my
S111. It is one of the cheaper made ones with a ply bottom. It
doesn't seem to be wide enough to fit in the space of the centre
seat base. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

screw it to the cover and then just slide the cover on and off
thats how mine is fitted, and its maybe not as wide to allow the
seat belt stems to work, Simon made the one in Maggie from
scratch and that one is about 1/4" smaller than the seatbox
cover.

^^^^ what he said nut and bolt through box and cover both mine
are fitted like that.

Thanks for your suggestions sorry there is no pics. There seems
to be about 2" each side. Could it be for a defender or are they
all the same?
