As far as I am aware it is not for the officer attending an
       accident to decide on prosecution.
That is done after he has submitted his report.
The first step is to check that a proper report has been made.

       Jesus, you were very lucky.
Looks like the roof rack helped a bit with the roll protection.
Get the vehicle back off the insurance and repair it yourself.
       Glad you were un-injured.
       Simon.

Bloody hell, that was a heck of a shunt. I would get on to the
old bill and push for the other twat to be prosecuted and
mention the Chief Constable and IPCC. At least that will ensure
the CPS actually get to look at it.
As for value if you don't have an agreed value policy that will
be difficult. The best thing you can do is trawl eBay for
completed auctions and places like Autotrader online to get
documentary evidence of what an equivalent series 3s are selling
       for.
We're now self insured at work so I do this quite a bit,
basically we want the TP to accept the lowest amount possible -
if I were you I'd be angling for £5k as full and final
settlement without prejudice plus retaining the vehicle on the
basis you won't claim for PI. If you were a right cunt the
insurers would be looking at 5 figures (the legal costs are
usually much higher than what the person gets, we had one where
the "injured" party got less than £3k but the legal fees were
over £20k) - you probably wouldn't get any more by going no win
no fee bit it would take ages and the insurers costs would be
much higher. Mention no win no fee but don't go there yet, my
feeling is they'll want to settle at that sort of money. I
       would.

Glad you are ok, gutted about Lola and mad that the other driver
was allowed to get away with it - thus far

That sound good but also go and get your Lola it's still your
car. Ask the recovery firm to bring it to your home you might
have to pay them but you bill the tp for that aswell. I am about
to break a series if you need owt give us a shout.

^^^ Good advice. I'd want it sat on my drive too. You could
probably charge them storage too, that tends to focus the mind.

This is very sad indeed. But fucking lucky you lived to tell the
tale with all that in the back. Thank goodness you didn't have a
       passenger.
Police these days do not feel that they are obliged to even
attend an RTA these days it would seem, unless there's a
fatality or serious injury; even when the other party flies
straight across a give-way junction and writes your car off.
The first thing they ask is "anyone injured?" and then when you
say "I don't think so" they tell you that they don't attend RTAs
       unless there is.
Don't bother asking me how I know this. ::)
Edit: Yep, just checked: The Old Bill are not obliged to attend
any RTA/RTC unless there is an injury or the possibility of a
public order offence. You were lucky a Rozzer bothered to show
       up at all..!

Another thing when the insurance co right it off try to get them
to CAT D or C it but try not to let them CAT B it as CAT B is
break only. Hope all that helps. If they do CAT B it you still
want it then you have all the parts for your next one.

Such a shame to see that happen, just to echo everyone else's
       thoughts though; you're very lucky.
Get it back for sure, i'm sure you'd not have much trouble
fixing it up with the help of a donor no matter what category
       write-off it is.
Makes me wanna hurry up with the cage even more so now!
