Chaine smoked most of his life, did my farther, finaly gave up
in his late 50's.
Prostate got him at 61, 3 years ago

cool thread this, I have a couple of old motorcycles myself.. in
fact the newest machine I own (the wife has a modern car) is my
1963 Panther M120...

G'day chaps, probably of not much interest to most people but
earlier on in the thread i mentioned my Matchless chop has been
laid up for years after it's rebuild and is now ready to go back
to it's original home in 1968.
After a lot of thought i have decided to put the old gal back on
the road so i can honour my late fathers wishes to have his
ashes scattered at out favorite spot at the calf of man ;-)
For those that don't know the Calf of man is situated on the
Isle Of Man where my father and i spent many days/weeks enjoying
nature at it's best and the TT or the Manx.
The stories i could tell are endless from either getting legless
or nearly cleaned up during the racing all because we found a
good vantage spot to watch the racing and not realizing why no
one else was sat there rofl.
After his stroke it was his last wish to go to the Island
although he said he would be ok camping in my Landrover
ambulance camper he sadly never got well enough otherwise it
would have happened although he loved his landrover i bought him
as therapy and i use all the time our last ride together will be
on my chop.
The only thing i can hope for is we don't get lost like we did
in France-Luxembourg Belgium to name but a few places we got
lost at :confused: this i hope will be a way to celebrate his
love of Bikes-Landrovers and the Ilse of Man.
