i had a D.O.T. (Devoid Of Trouble) ;D telescopic forks on mine
though, excellent little trialling bike used to scare meself
stupid on it

The Rudge does it for me-mate of mine nearly 50 years ago had a
slightly later one with a bronze head. It cost him a tenner.

G'day chaps this is my baby that has been laid to rest in the
shed, I've had it since 1968. It has got 200 thousand miles plus
and has been all over the world and this country and many trips
to the Isle of Man with my late father riding his enfield bullet
great days.

Good selection of 2- wheeled excellence in this thread- but RR's
Matchless takes the biscuit, it's a fantastic looking thing
anyway, but the story behind it sounds even better 8)

G'day chaps, thanks for the comments believe me she is not as
good now as she was she was fitted with six inch overs on the
forks that is i then had some springer's on for a good few years
till i sent them off for re chroming and some links got lost so
i put standard tellies back on with a Norton Nominator front
wheel for a better front brake i also had to machine a front
spindle to sit in the Matchless fork bottoms.
The motor was rebuilt 17/18 years ago with a cast head instead
of the alloy one but gas flowed and vapour blasted to help with
the burning of the fuel ie'' a swirling affect would break up
the fuel into smaller particles'' to aid my miles per gallon so
while travelling at a constant 50 i could manage 100.2 miles per
gallon which is what i needed on my long runs at ease with
nature.
In 1970 she had a smaller tank that i moulded a flip up cap on
to which was Ok for the short runs of a couple of hundred miles
but i soon started to travel a lot further visiting my late
Grandfather and Grandmother in Essex where i camped at ease with
nature alone in a forest this is the forest i mention a lot of
the times on Forums when i talk of my biking days along with my
brothers in the Angels not trouble makers that some would think
but a brotherhood with a very strong bond as Bikers.
If you would like some more shots of my chop i will gladly show
some of her early days, another ironic thing is me moving back
to what was my home when young and now will be my home again
with my trucks is the chop will be parked in the same shed in
the same place as it was in 1968. Catch you later. R-Rose ;).

This is my old M33. Taken just before I sold it last year. I'd
been agonising about parting with it as I'd owned it for a long
time, but it was getting so little use, and a motorcycle is a
pretty difficult hobby to share with a young family...

This, although a shitty camera-phone picture, is one of my
favourite "snaps" as it captures the bike and my 1937 Ford Y in
my old lockup. I wish I still had the Ford (i regretted selling
that much more than I did the bike), but I let it go about four
years ago now when we found out the wife was expecting. It
really wanted more work than I had the time to give it, but I
loved it's looks!

I've got an old Volkswagen Beetle as a more "family friendly"
toy now... But I've still got my old D1 Bantam that I've had
since I was eight - I keep it taxed and tested, but I've
probably done no more than 1000 miles in the last decade on it!
Can't find a pic of the Bantam on the computer, I'll take one
tomorrow and post it up.
