Proper motorcycles

To escape the recent festering period, I have performed a top
end over haul on my 1976 T140V, the poor thing has been sitting
at the back of the BIG shed for a few years (again) and I have
been promising it that I would deal with its sticky exhaust
valve 'soon' each time I laid eyes on it.
It turned out to need 2 new valves and guides, which thankfully,
were available just down the road in Rawtenstall.
A couple of days stripping and cleaning, lapping valves and
reaming guides soon had things behaving once again and last
Friday saw it being awarded a new MOT:

I've had the best of both worlds, I had a couple of 'real'
Triumphs over the years including a '54 Thunderbird, but just
last year finished my biking career on an 08 new Bonniville, a
really good compromise between old and new, old size and style,
new bullet proof technology, loved them both.

Great work there Yetti.
Though I've either owned or blagged rides on most of the
"classic" & modern jap bikes at some time or other and love my
modern day Triumph Speed Triple, I've never experienced owning
or riding a classic old Brit Bike, dunno why, just never
happened.
My life is obviously incomplete.
Now a dilemma - a series 2, petrol, shortie or a classic brit
bike....mmmmmm
I have too many needs to be poor !!
It must be my turn to win the lottery soon?

Cut my teeth on a BSA Thunderbolt - A65 unit twin, However my
baby and family drive for a few years, was a Panther 600 single,
Busmar double adult side car, tow bar and trailer for the
camping gear.
Happy, slow times.

i've a 76 T140 sat in the back of my garage i can hardly
remember the last time i fiddled with it, spending too much time
fixing/fiddling with landys i think, i haven't even started it
up in at least two years, it now needs both mastercylinders
sorting at the very least
this was one of my old toys, it was different with twin 36idf's
fitted
