"push on" fuel pipes - my arse

Trying to get the drip rail joined to the pipe that comes out of
t he injector pipe (200 tdi)
frozen the metal bit and almost boiled the plastic pipe but the
bastard wont go on
Any tips please?

Go and have a cuppa and then give it another try it works for me
if I'm getting wound by something not going to plan :thumbs:

I use a blowtorch to warm up the plastic pipe.
I've never found boiling water gets it pliable enough, but 3-4
seconds with a blowtorch going right round the last inch or so
of the plastic pipe, and it's on with no problem.
Of course, make sure there's no Diesel in the plastic pipe

Perhaps a bit late, but for my money, warm with hot air gun and
perhaps a touch of liquid soap.

I wouldn't use soap - you want the pipe to grip once it's on

i take the kettle out to the garage, boil it, pop the top as
soon as the water has settled, in with the pipe for about 15/20
seconds then straight onto the pipe stub with a firm push, try
and feed it on and it won't go all the way.

Do you have a brake flaring tool (to grip the pipe)?
Grip the pipe in a vice with just a bit hanging out of the end
and then heat it up and hammer the fitting in to it, this always
seems to work best for me, I sometimes shove the long nose
pliers in the end of the pipe to open up the pipe slightly
first.
Or if you don't have a flaring tool use 2 blocks of wood in the
vice, clamp them in the vice then drill through the gap slightly
smaller than the pipe OD to make a pipe clamperer.

Warm water and a 1/4 in socket extension as a "reamer" to open
it out ?
