       342 NTC rebuild
       By: Adam R Date: January 22, 2013, 5:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Started doing a bit to my 1960 Series 2 'NTC'
she served me well everyday after being dragged out of a shed
after 20 years and put on the road, but not without some drama.
as most of it is original, bar the engine, but ive amost got an
age related engine to go in (cheers Jim) and one doortop and
tailgate is missing, few other bits and bobs but not much. Ill
try to save what I can of the original, before replacing it with
       new if I have too.

Door repair sections arrived today, and I cut a few bits out of
       one door.
doing one at a time, starting with the worst (bent out of shape)
door and clamping to the other and both to a flat bit of plate
to keep them straight ish. Probably galv them after, and have to
bend them true again, but ho hum,
Cleaned a few of the bits up from the spare box, declared most
as scrap, but probably better than original box innards. Looks
like it may be an expensive shopping list of bits. Ill be saving
the original box baring disasters, but sorting the inside out.
blasted a few more odds and sods.
started to flat back the base of the carb, Got :wanker: cramp.
       leaving the rest till tomorrow.
pics on camera I left at work like a twonk

Sounds like you need a donor vehicle. Fancy looking at one this
weekend. Also have an old engine for you to take away.

Oh god, don't let him have a donor vehicle - he will only try
       and restore it!

Tonight I mostly tacked a drivers door up. It seems to have gone
ok so far and hasnt twisted.
Got the curved bits and top rail to patch now, then start on the
       passenger door frame...
       Pictures tomorrow
