       A '70 2a named 'Womble'.

As some of you may know from my intro thread, I've bought a 1970
88" to 'tidy up' and put back on the road. Now she's fully road
legal, I'm treating it to a clean up and repaint (still in it's
       original Limestone).

       When I bought it...

First job was to try and get the door tops off. They were seized
onto the (good) doors pretty firmly, so lost my temper and just
ripped them apart until I could get a grinder in to cut the
studs off... what a state! Got some new frames and runner kits,
is there instructions for assembling these for a newbie as they
look (and have been told) they're a pain to do!

Now into the cold dark shed up me parent's place to do the
repaint. Body work all prepped and old paint flattened down.

Needs a clean up and some underseal.
Now some pics of that heater as promised for those who were
       interested.

Pipe on far left should be connected to the outlet above it.

Could it be a Kodiak? Looks a bit of a homemade affair to me,
and doesn't look like any of the Kodiaks I've seen online? The
fan works, but has f*ck all puff, and nowt's connected pipe
       wise.

Come on a lot now! Just a few things to do to 'finish' it (i.e.
assemble door tops, new indicator unit and refit badge), then
she's ready to come out the shed. A service and chassis
rustproofing will be the next big job.

Any more thoughts on the origins of that heater, 'fuckwit'? ;D

       Very nice.
Looks like a well made heater.
       With ram air effect :)
Could you post a close up picture of the sticker in the back
       window?
Is it an old one ?

Thought I'd do an update. Since the last one, I've completed the
paintjob, returned it to Shropshire, and started using it.
Last few days, I've been sorting a couple of issues out. I
changed the clutch flexi hose and the clutch now works like a
dream... the old hose must have only had about 2mm internal dia.
it had swelled so much. I replaced the fuel line from the pump
to carb, with an inline filter fitted too.
I then drained the awful gunk out the coolant system, ran it
with rad flush, then flushed it and refilled the system. It
doesn't seem right though, as the system is pressuring a fair
bit, and I can't feel any water in the top hose when squeezing
it. I popped round the corner to John Richards and bought a new
thermostat for it, but I still feel no water in there? When I
rev the engine from idle, there's the occassional squeel from
what I assume is the water pump, so could that be be showing a
problem... However I don't think it's overheating as the engine
doesn't seem to be getting very hot... I ought to fix the
temperature gauge so I can see what it's doing!
Despite that, this afternoon I was freed of lectures, so decided
to go and grab some chicken dippers from Morrisons, and explore
       the local countryside...

Spot the Womble! Carpets are refitted, I also carpetted the door
panels to help reduce drumming. I couldn't believe the price of
the proper Series door handles, so I bought a pair of cupboard
ones off eBay for £2 + P&P and screwed them on!

Looks a lot better with mud on it... It's great having a classic
you don't care getting filthy, and put it away still filthy!

Gaylander driver gave us the thumbs up as we passed each other
on the lane! Obviously complete jealousy.
