       be well expensive now :loser:

Prices seem to have rocketed post the "scrappage scheme"...it
appears too many were weighed in, and the few that are left are
       now at a premium.
If you want to make an offer for The Shed, I'd consider offers
       around £10 billion.

Rule of thumb that I use is if it has a current MoT that has 10
months plus on has to be worth at least £1k.
Somebody told me at LATP a few years ago (the first or second)
was that if it had an overdrive on it was worth minimum of £400.

When I had my first Landrover, more than 20 years ago, I
reckoned any LAndrover witn an MOT back then was worth £1500
I don't think that has changed.
But there are plenty about. This one might end up going cheap

/>but sadly not old enough for free road tax.
I guess pre 1973 vehicles command a premium as their running
costs are £275 per year less than other cars.
       this one puzzles me

All you are getting is literally a chassis and a V5. I guess
that allows anyone to "make" an old one, out of a scrap newer
one, and thus "re create" a historic vehicle. Some may not agree
with that, but I see nothing wrong. my BIL restores military
vehicles for a hobby and many of his trucks have started out as
little more than a rusted out bent chassis.

There was a 1980 S3 on eBay the other day, £900 BIN. 12 months
ticket but no tax, 200di, generally tidy and up together, brakes
gone through for the test- down side being a suspected chipped
tooth in reverse. Bloody thing sold for £775 on a best offer
just after I'd checked I could afford to insure the thing :haha:
So they are out there, but you've gotta keep your eyes open. And
not fartarse around being tight about insuring them :banghead
