Crank bolt what size is it??

Trying to remove the bolt on the end of the crank on ffragle.
I've tried with a large adjustable spanner but due to the pulley
being deep dished for the ffr belts I can't get a good grip on
the flats of said bolt :2mo5pow:
I think if I use a deep socket it should work so as to clear the
crank handle forks. I've put a lump of wood in the motor between
the crank and the block to stop it turning.

easier to put 2 long extentions together and a short one at put
it through the front pto hole. It is 30 summit possibly 2-4 cant
quite remember, but its bigish. You can if your struggling put
the socket on and jam the handle against the chassis, disconnect
the stop solenoid if its a diesel and blip the key..........dont
let the engine run! ::)

Approx 43mm Metric... which equates to 1 11/16 inches. Just try
to check first, as yours should have the funnelled shield over
the starter dog.

Not got the funnel on this one.
Aparantly it is the original motor. Going on the amount of shit
on it, it looks like its been there since 1965!

If it's a 2.25 then the bolt is 1" Whitworth.

^ Whitworth? Really? Thought it would be BSF! Had mine off the
2.6 the other night and it is certainly not whitworth (which at
1" is 8tpi)
