go' than the 2.5 NA whilst not needing to replace the original
radiator etc ... but it has been suggested that a Di would be
pretty flat performance and I figured if that was the case I
could then add the turbo etc. My main concern with the T is the
increased wear to UJs and gearbox.

Glencoyne) but a group gathering might be hard as we are
stripping the house in preparation to move and my only garage
space is at my parents ... if it comes to the crunch though I
might have to make a gathering work!

the side of the road this morning that it does need doing sooner
than later but it also needs to be right first time as I have no
other way of getting to work ... and I cant wire a plug let
alone a diesel into a petrol loom!

Always worth seeking out personal recommendations when it comes
to stuff like this ... Horses for courses etc etc

Is this good advice or a recommendation to one of my choices
over the other? Thanks

Difficult for me to reccomend any or either to be honest, as ive
no direct experience of either ....
I was just trying to point out that it's well worth asking
around for folks that have had direct dealings with them

Richard at Glencoynes work is very nice, goes the extra mile
like working on his own vehicle, BUT he is a business so you
will pay for the privilege, he is not cheap. I would imagine
you looking at 20 hours+ labour :o Then the engine and all the
little bits needed will cost a pretty packet getting it done at
workshop rates
just my 2 pennies worth :-)

I have not had my engine fitted by Richard but got my Bell
housing drilled out and he supplied me with the exhaust manifold
and brackets.
I found his email reply s were a bit slow but when you phone he
answers straight away. I'm going down the DI route. i have got
my engine and have been working on getting it ready.
Until last year i had never fitted an engine but gave it a go i
removed my old engine and gear box and fitted the spare ones i
had on my own.
Give it a go. There is a wealth of information out there.
What it looked like when i first got it

makes it more interesting to fit
Most of the conversion is simple nut and bolt its just pipework
rerouting to alter and rad and intercooler mods to sort ie how
to fit in space or other stiles available.
The wiring is not that much different as the wire for your coil
goes to the fuel stop instead and you need a wire for the heater
plugs plus a switch or the relay for doner engine which
incorporates a timer off the same wire to the coil i think

The 200Tdi is a great conversion. I'm currently fitting one to
my 88". Took it out for its first spin around the yard today -
It put a huge grin on my face - :smilewide:
