No probably not and with the usual level of infrastructure
investment down here we will soon see it running on the Newquay
branch line

They still have to do this for the Waterloo and Shitty Line,
because there's no way out at either end.

Love the picture titled "1945: Soldiers return from Europe after
D-Day, on a London Underground train" - do you think they built
the Normandy terminus before or after the D-Day invasion? :)
All of these are lovely old photos, although the wartime ones
are chilly.

They still take trains through London like that? 'king hell.
For those of you that know, how much of an arse is it to steer
something like that when it's mounted on two road bogies?

What a fab bunch of pictures - thanks for posting.
The engine's an Aveling & Porter tractor and I would think one
of their '7 ton' examples with 5-6nhp.

No worries, thought you lot would like them!
Is there a bloke under the train, between the two bogies?

Looks like he might be the brake man, his hand appears to be on
a handle?

Yes you do! Did a marquee at Euston station about 3 years ago
launching a new train for which ever line it was. A full size
carriage was inside the tent and on removal was cranned out and
loaded onto a lorry and taken away
