My 101

We've three leafers, an 80" (still in bits) a SIIa diesel and
the 101.
The 101 is my main squeeze. Its still V8 powered and fairly
standard, although has overdrive fitted and softer rated Heystee
springs to make it flex and keep its wheels on the floor.

The rear body is currently off the truck for some repairs...
Found a bit of tin worm in the cross member. The rear cross
member is a bit of a strange construction on the 101 and there
is a hole that the winch cable passes through that also lets
lots of mud and water into the box section, with nowhere to go.
Anyway some pics of what I'm having to do to repair.

Few pics of the repairs on the rear cross member.
The original steel has been cut out and replaced with 3mm steel.
I've also welded up the hole that mirrors the one on the other
side where the hole is for the winch cable to pass through. All
it does on this side is allow crap and water to collect in the
box section and rot it out.

Pic below shows where the spring hanger box was cut on the
diagonal on the bottom corner where it had started to corrode.

In repairing the box section I have replaced the bottom section
with some thicker steel to allow me to drill and tap it to mount
the mudflaps on.

2.5mm plate to box it all in.

Work started on the other side this weekend!

On this side I'll be welding in a sleeve around the winch hole
so the Nokken can still be used on the rear, but to stop the
crap getting into the cross member.
