...as I'm not going to be having amber indicators any more, I
was looking around for a solution to using a Lucas DB10 control
relay for the sidelight/brakelight indicators.....however, as
they cost £60+++ I decided to try to find a better way......then
recently I stumbled across this lovely diagram of how to use 4
relays to make an effective DB10
[IMG]
HTML http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c396/hairyvike/DB10alternative-lookspromising.jpg[/img]
.....which, when combined with a DB10 fitment diagram as
below....
HTML http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c396/hairyvike/DB10wiring.jpg[/img]
....gives me the perfect solution....the four relays and one
flasher unit will cost me about £15!!
....thought I'd chuck this up here in case anyone else needs a
cheap solution for this problem :smilewide:

...well, I've finally got the electrickery just about
finished....all of the circuits work as they should (so
far!)....however....the instrument panel won't fit back in place
until I've tidied the wires up behind it! :banghead :haha:

...well things have finally moved on, and this last week I've
been sorting out the brakes on the old girl.....however, I went
to bleed them and....nothing.....so I removed the nearside rear
wheel cylinder and found that it had seized....as had the other
3... :haha:
.....so I ripped them apart, cleaned them up and polished all
the internals, then re-fitted them with all new seals and loads
of luverly red rubber grease......and guess what?....nothing,
yup.... :2mo5pow:
....so I took the master cylinder off today, and before checking
it thoroughly , ordered a new set of seals.....guess
what?......yup, it's seized solid internally and I'll have to
buy a new'un.....and, as that's an NR6096 it'll have to wait
till I get my next load of dosh to buy one....ho hum :banghead
....so that buggers me up for getting it to Leafers this
year.......probably :FAIL!:

...well, after a tad more work......new seals for my chrome
balls  (fitted in situ as I'm a lazy scrote)...new o rings
on the throttle and stop shafts on the dizzy pump...a new fuel
tank as the old one went tetley on me and a few other minor
fettles.....she finally got an mot!!! :smilewide: :smilewide:
:smilewide:
.....and after a mere week's wait the dvla managed to not only
change her taxation class, but also sent me a nice tax disc to
go with it :giddy:
...she's been on the road for a couple of weeks now and is going
pretty well...mind you she scares the shit out of me above 35
mph.... rofl
