brake pipe size/thread

What is the size/thread of a lwb master cylinder, the rear most
hole on a swb is this thread also for some reason with a smaller
front one. 3/8 or 3/16 summit..........

You're going to have to give us more info here. S1/2/2a/3? If a
2a does it have a servo? If it has a Servo is it remote or fixed
to the master cylinder? If it's a 3 does it have a servo? Also,
what year is it? Does it have a shuttle valve? Is it dual
circuit? Metric or Imperial? There are so many different layouts
of brakes on 109s and late 88s that take 109 master cylinders,
that there is no simple answer here. Is there a part number on
the master cylinder?

hmmm fair point. Its a series 1 fitted with a later s2/3 swb
master cylinder. its failed and i have got a lwb master cylinder
to replace it since i fitted 11" front brakes and larger rear
brake cylinders so the larger cylinder should match it better
since i was having to pump the pedal as it was pushing enough
fluid even when all adjusted up nicely. no part number as i cant
read it properly, it was pulled out new old stock from the back
of an old land rover garage, no box etc. No servo or shuttle
valve, single circuit jobbie.

tis 7/16 :thumbs: only place i could find an end was the scrap
yard............... :banghead

7/16 unf is the same size as mk2 cortina master cylinder, can
get the ends in LCP or any good motor factor that makes up brake
pipes, cost pence :).
Dunno why your using a lwb master cylinder anyway, you can get
any size girling types master cylinders in Rally Design, ebay,
Burton Power, Peter lloyd ralling etc, the're all the same
fitment, new master cylinders tend to have 3/8 unf threads on
them though but if your changing the end anyway it dont matter

well nowhere had an end just before xmas......anyway i ended up
rebuilding the old cylinder for now as the pedal pressure was
too high. All of this is because i was given the wrong cylinder!
