Without sounding like a bitch and starting a slag match;
I haven't been happy about BM brake parts lately, yet 2/3years
ago the same parts were bob on.
Makes your own mind up..... or get one from Ashcroft? (if they
do them)

I've done that and it works. It's amazing what you find on
it....

You can get magnetic sump plugs, I bought one for the Mini a
few years back. They must do them in Land Rover sizes too ?

I had a problem tappet on a 3mb 2.25. Initially it adjusted up
ok. (BTW the name of the original tool designed to compensate
for indented wear on the rocker pads was the 'Clickadjust'.It
was introduced in the late sixties if I remember correctly.)
Then the persistent sound of one maladjusted clearance returned.
Despite further adjustment it got worse-so bad that the engine
sounded totally knackered. Power however was not down in any
way-which I would have expected had the hardening on the cam
lobe been penetrated. Ripping it apart I found a set of cam
follower wheels that were the older type with the conical indent
(for original machine centering I assume). The rogue one had
very minor scuffing on the face of the wheel where it made
contact with the slider holder. I made use of my micrometer to
put together the best mixed set that I could and the sweet sound
of the motor was eventually restored.
The point is that even very minor damage to the follower wheels
can make an otherwise lovely engine sound like complete crap. As
far as fitting Britpart crap is concerned I don't understand why
anybody does so-it's just an endless procession of unsuitable
weak links which will cheapen any LR and destroy its inherent
reliability.
