You may have seen my post about the 88 bending a pushrod on the
way to Lurch's laning day a few months back. This turned out to
be the rocker gear hitting the rocker cover as has been
mentioned by Jackual, presumably as a result of the stage 2 head
being skimmed. I had a similar thing with the ambulance with a
stage 1 head and that fucked a couple of tappet slides. I now
fit two rocker cover gaskets to get a few mm extra clearance
just to be on the safe side. If this is the case with yours
you'll see scratch marks in the ally above that rocker.

I can't be sure but I think I may have found the problem:
FFS - Bluebox so called set! They may have been a set but the
slide and guide must have been from two different ones ??? Words
will be had and sweatbox Singh will be giving back his penny
       back for that weeks work!!

I've checked the cam with a dti and it seems ok but as for the
cheese ( so called steel) rolling around the engine now; who
       knows.
A few oil changes and a FO big magnet might see it through till
       tditime.

ouch, i'm guessing that is the cam follower :'(
a magnet attached to the sump plug ??
might it be worth dropping the sump and glueing a magnet to the
inside bottom of it (just another crappy idea)

The sumps coming off to further clean etc etc and while your
idea may seem 'crappy', I have though of that but I remebered we
have some magents at work which I could put on the outside of
the sump, so powerful they'll do the job easilly. Once they're
ona flat surface its nearly impossible to get them off and they
       are only 50mmx10mm

What utter poorly made unfit for purpose shite! I would be onto
shitpart for a new engine, let alone time for putting it back
       together!

Bloody hell that is disgraceful, but sadly so common with
Shitpart componentry. I wonder how long it'll be before one of
the magazine staff are killed in the 100% Shitpart rebuilds they
       seem obsessed with featuring.  ::)
