This mot exemption thingy

Right i have scanned the letter posted up but i cant now open it
for some reason. y logbook states first date of registration
1983 when it was put back on the road but in the special notes
it states it was manufactured in 1955 and so i assume im ok for
mot exemption?????? do i need any more proof when i go to the
post office and they cause the usual trouble. :haha:

one of my work colleagues had the same worry
his was register 75 built 1958 had no problem as it was on the
v5
if its not there its harder you then need to go to gaydon for
build records

Saw your tax form as it went to parenst house, it says mot
exempt on it anyway :thumbs:

The tax for my station wagon ran out at the end of November, I
was expecting to have to explain about MOT exemption but having
waved the insurance and tax renewal form to the post office
woman she gave me a disc without comment (the MOT expired in
september so I guess her screen said it wasn't required, like a
new car I guess). The tax renewal form had a note printed on it
saying "from 18 Nov Vehicles registered or manufactured before
1960 no longer need an MOT", wether this is there on everything
or because the reg was flagged as pre 60 I don't know, guess
I'll find out next year when one of the others needs taxing.
Mines declaired first reg 1956 so no issues there, I guess if
both the first reg and declared year of first use state
something after 1959 you'll have to get a dating cert and
possubly an inspection before the DVLA would consider updating
the errors they deliberately did when reregisting a lot of
things in the 90's.
